Go Set a Watchman for Tentacle Porn and the Dentist

COMPLETE RANDOMNESS

I come to all of you today with probably the most random blog I have ever written. I would also like to mention that I am on some pain killers right now so if something does not add up, then that is why. Maybe you will get a little out of this blog, but really it is just a bunch of randomness. Skip it if you want to, but maybe you will enjoy my randomness a little bit.

So stick around for some randomness when I talk about the book “Go Set a Watchman”, Tentacle Porn, and my latest trip to the dentist!!

So just to start with, I absolutely hate the dentist. It is not like I have had any terrifying experience that would cause it. Just ever since I was little I have hated the dentist. It is a struggle to get me to go. Like for real. You have to drag me there. Even as a nineteen year old, I hate going to the dentist so my Mom has to take me. It does not help that my dentist is a crazy old man and they never listen to me. I went there today and let me just say that if I was not scarred before, I am now. My dentist is a mean, mean man who thinks it is funny to numb people’s mouths and then tell them they look like a walrus. It was terrible. I will not go into specifics but now I am even more scared to go back. No thank you Mr. Dentist……well Dr. Dentist I guess…..moving on!!

I bet by now some of you are a little worried about why I mentioned tentacle porn in the title of this blog. No I have not dived into that world…..I have seen one brief clip and let me just say…”No thank you”. The only reason I bring it up is because while I was in the waiting room at the dentist and this older lady was talking to another woman who had brought her in for her appointment. While I do not make a habit of eavesdropping on other people’s conversation, this one definitely drew my attention.

I was sitting there reading my copy of “Go Set a Watchman” (Yes I finally bought it!!) and suddenly I heard the world “tentacle porn”. Wait…..what? I closed the book and sat there a second before I heard it again. The lady said: “I read about this stuff called tentacle porn that apparently you can watch on the internet. Sounds pretty interesting to me.”

I do not care if anyone is into that kind of stuff, it is just that I was not really expecting to hear it brought up by an older lady at the dentist’s office. I mean…..it just took me a little bit by surprise. I could also tell that the lady she was with either had no idea what she was talking about, or was just as uncomfortable with the discussion as I was overhearing it. I did not eavesdrop anymore after that and went back to reading my book.

Speaking of my book!! So I mentioned in one of my Liebster Nominations that one of my favorite books I have ever read is “To Kill a Mockingbird”. I read it in English my junior year and absolutely loved it. It was the one book that I was “forced” to read that I actually enjoyed. When I found out months ago that “Go Set a Watchman” was going to be released, I was even more excited!! I am not going to say a lot about this book because I do not want to ruin it for anyone who is looking forward to it. All I have to say is that if you are looking for a sequel to “To Kill a Mockingbird” then it may not be what you are looking for. As a book by itself, it is a nice look at multiple issues that surround a small town. If anything I would consider it to be an alternate universe than the one set in “To Kill a Mockingbird”. After all, it was written before “To Kill a Mockingbird” so it was not like she meant it as a sequel. I would just look at it as a book that features the names of characters that you may be familiar with, but they live a little different lives. Maybe if I had read “Watchman” first it would have been different. I am a little upset with a few things in it, but I am pretty pleased with the way that it went. Not a lot happened but there were some interesting topics discussed in it.

But as a person who was looking forward to it as a sequel, I was kind of disappointed. It just showed me that sometimes a sequel is not what we want it to be. Sometimes you are left with even more questions than you had before. I do not know. I am a little biased I guess.

Now I am not completely sure why I decided to write this blog. It may have to do with the fact that I am currently on some pain medicine for the wonderful procedure that I had at the dentist. It is just a little rant about my day that does not really have any point to it. I am a random person and this is just a result of that. There really is no major point to it. The title just sounded really good in my head and my painkiller clouded brain thought it was just the perfect thing ever.

So that is all that I have for this time!! What about you guys? Any interesting trips to the dentist lately? Have you seen a sequel to a story that you loved that was not all that it turned out to be? Leave it down in the comments below!!

See you next time!!
