Usually when a show ends with a happy episode after an intense one the episode before it signifies the end to the story. That is all there is to the plot and that happy episode shows you that everyone is happy, healthy, and the world they live in has returned to normalcy. Well as normal as a world can get when there is a Dullahan driving around, an information broker just WAITING to mess stuff up once everyone gets comfortable again, and a sword lady going around cutting people so she can control them. This was the case for the end of one of my favorite anime Durarara!! and while I was sad it ended I thought it wrapped up nicely. Then I found out there was more story, a lot more events to be discussed, and that pleasantry I experienced at its ending was gone. I needed more! Which we got. When I reviewed the first season of the show (which you can check out here: Durarara!! Review) the second season had already started airing and I promised to review it once it concluded. Two years later and here we are yet again.
So here is the follow up to my 16th Anime Review and the 2nd Sequel Saturday post. We are returning to Ikebukuro in Durarara!!x2.
*SPOILER WARNING: Since this is a review of the second season there may be some spoilers for the end of the first season*
We are nearing the end of Anniversary Review Week and I am sad to see it coming to a close. I have enjoyed this week so much and hope that you have been as well. Today is Day 7 so after today there is only one more day. But it is not over yet! Today I am reviewing an anime that I highly recommend and am super excited to be reviewing it!!
So here is my 35th Anime Review and Day 7 of Anniversary Review Week! One of my favorite supernatural anime to come out of the last few years: Noragami.
Story Time!! When you are someone like me who has very few friends in real life who watch anime, having someone throw a DVD at you telling you to “watch this now” does not happen everyday. In fact, it never happened to me until just over a week ago. I was at home for spring break and had already started watching Your Lie in April for my next review. I was five episodes in when my Mom asked me to run over to the fish fry and get dinner and bring it home. I was like “okay” and planned on running there and back so I could keep trucking through Your Lie in April. Then. It happened. I was waiting in line to order when I kept hearing my name being called over and over. My vice president from the anime club I was in came running up to me and was like “I have something for you in my car!” and she darts away. She came back with a copy of Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign and told me to try it and return it to her when I was done. And that is what I did. I put Your Lie in April to the side for a while and watched this show.
So here is my 27th Anime Review for an anime that was thrust in my hands without me expecting it: Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign!
Have you ever started watching an anime and then a few episodes in you decide maybe it is not quite your cup of tea? Well of course you have! We all have. I sure have. In fact that brings me to the anime that I am discussing today! An anime that certainly was not perfect but left me with something that an anime has not left me with in a very long time. Which is actually pretty exciting for me considering what I had originally thought of it the first time.
So here is my 26th Anime Review for a show that changed my opinion of it after trying it again the second time: K.
The first episode of a show, the pilot episode, is the episode that is supposed to draw you in and make you want to see what becomes of the series as a whole. On TV in the US, if a show’s pilot does not do well then the show does not happen. Now I do not know a lot about the anime industry, but from what I have seen in Shirobako once a show is decided it goes on until its full run is over. Even if the first episode is slow and boring, the show will go on. Why am I talking about this? Well back in 2013 when the show I am reviewing today originally aired, I watched the first episode and was honestly not impressed. However, as the show went on I kept hearing nothing but positive reviews of this show. Looking into it while doing research for this review I learned that opinions of this review are either really positive, or kind of negative. There is no real in between. Which I find very interesting.
So here is my 24th Anime Review for a show that I had honestly no idea what to expect going in: Kyoukai no Kanata.
Hello again everyone!!
Here we are with start of Anniversary Review Week!! This is the first of eight reviews, and I cannot wait to get started! As mentioned before, I picked some of my favorite anime to review to help celebrate this week. And the anime that I picked today definitely has a spot on my favorites list.
Here is my 11th Anime Review and the kickoff to Anniversary Review Week!! A little show about our favorite son of Satan: Blue Exorcist.
My third review!! I realized that this is already the second anime that I have reviewed that pertains to the supernatural, such as yokai. I know what you’re thinking. “If you realize that why don’t you review a different kind of anime?” Well honestly for a few selfish reasons. With my first few anime I wanted to review anime that either I know very well, such as Gundam 00, or anime that I have recently watched, like the one I’m review now. So here it is! My review of Red Data Girl!
My first official anime review, considering my Ao Haru Ride post was more like a rant on what I wanted to happen. I will try and give you as much detail on the show’s story as I can without spoiling anything. As with everything, this is all my opinion and I hope you enjoy!
